Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club
Club Rules & Regulations
Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club was founded in 2007. Its principal aims are to protect, improve and make a difference to local bikers in the Oldham and Saddleworth Areas.
Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club is a PRIVATE members club, it will endeavour to meet the requirements of all members. It will organise fun runs, outings and events throughout the year.
Club Officers
Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club shall comprise of the following positions:
Chairman
Vice Chairman
Committee Members
Secretary
Treasurer
Other Officers (not part of the Committee)
Sub Secretary
Events Organiser
Ride-out Organiser
1. The Committee shall initially comprise of 3 members appointed by members, this shall increase to such a number as deemed necessary to carry out its function.
2. The Committee and Officers shall, at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), present a report to the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the Members of the club, outlining activities undertaken in the previous year and the state of the Club’s general and charity fundraising accounts.
3. The Committee shall fill in any vacancies arising in Officer or Committee Member positions that occur between AGM’s.
4. Any Officer, Committee Member or Member of the Club failing to attend three consecutive meetings, without explanation, will be deemed to have resigned.
5. A minimum number of 3 Committee Members is required for the purpose of a valid Committee Meeting. A Committee Meeting must consist of Committee Members, including Secretary, Treasurer. Chairman and Vice Chairman may or may not attend.
General Rules
1. The Club shall be known as Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club.
2. The Club shall consist of persons who are eligible under the rules of the Club.
3. Members must be aged 18 or over.
4. The Committee shall do whatever they deem necessary for the wellbeing of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club, provided it is not inconsistent with the rules. The decision of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Committee shall be final.
5. All members, having signed the Club Application Form, endorse their acceptance of the Club Rules. Claiming ignorance of these rules will not be accepted.
6. All Officers and Members are required to wear Club insignia at all Club meetings, Club Ride-outs and Club Events, unless notified by the Chairman. During any time Club Insignia is worn, the member is required and expected to wear it with pride and to be responsible for the image they project of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club
7. On Social nights, Officers and Members are expected to stay together.
8. All Officers and Members are expected to actively take part in the organisation and clear up at any Club event. This is your Club, be proud to be a part of it.
Membership
1. Any person wishing to join Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club must attend a minimum of 6 meetings prior to receiving full membership.
2. Any person wishing to join Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club will complete the member’s application form and submit it to the Secretary along with a £10.00 subscription fee. This is an annual fee, which is fixed at the AGM and payable by all renewing members at the AGM.
3. Any member who knowingly gives false information on their application form is subject to dismissal from the club, at the discretion of the Chairman.
4. Weekly subs of £3.00 are payable, unless otherwise agreed by the Chairman. Subs are payable on absence, with exception of permanent shift workers, holidays or sickness.
5. All elected members shall receive an embroidered Club Badge as proof of membership. Club Badges remain the property of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club.
6. The Chairman, Vice Chairman or Committee reserve the right to accept or reject any application without reason.
7. The Club year runs from November to October.
8. The Club Logo may only be displayed or worn by fully paid up members. Any persons ceasing their membership with Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club, for any reason whatsoever, is no longer entitled to display the Club Logo and should surrender their embroidered Club Badge.
9. Any member infringing any rule or, who judged by a majority of the Committee, to have been guilty of any misconduct whatsoever, may be subject to dismissal from Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club. The Secretary will, where possible, give that member notice of the complaint and the proceedings which follow. That member shall be invited to attend a disciplinary meeting with the Committee. The decision of said meeting shall be final.
10. Any Member who has a problem/grievance with any other Officer or Member, should deal with the problem/grievance privately, not in the company of other Officers or Members. If unresolved, then the problem/grievance should be taken up with the Chairman.
11. No member of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club whether Officer or Member, shall at any time bring Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club into disrepute with any other Club or member of the public, whilst identifiable as a member of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club. Breach of this rule will bring immediate disciplinary action.
12. Any decision, discussion or general information passed at Club Meetings, is confidential and may not be released to any non-member for any reason whatsoever. Breach of this rule brings immediate disciplinary proceedings without exception.
13. Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club will enrol supporters, either riders or non-riders. These members will hold full Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club membership with weekly subs payable at a reduced rate. Supporters are a valuable part of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club and are there to help and support the Club.
Committee and Officers
1. The Chairman, Vice Chairman and the Committee Members and Officers shall be subject to approval by full Members at the AGM.
2. The Chairman, Vice Chairman and the Committee shall have the power of deciding all questions not provided for in these rules.
3. Any large project or scheme involving Club funds must be decided by the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the Committee, including Secretary and Treasurer.
Meeting of Members
1. The AGM will normally be held in November of each year. Any propositions to amend or add to Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club Rules must be submitted to the Secretary in writing and before 1st October.
2. The AGM will be restricted to fully paid up Members of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club, who are entitled to vote on all matters of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club business.
3. The Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club accounts should be presented at the AGM for approval.
General Conduct
1. The Committee may meet at any time and place, as appropriate without notice to Members.
2. No Officer or Member may introduce more the 2 guests at any one meeting.
3. The introducing Member is deemed responsible for their guest’s good conduct and observance of the Club Rules.
4. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, or Committee Member reserves the right to refuse admittance to any guest they deem undesirable.
5. Only the Chairman and Vice Chairman have the power to invite members from other Motor Cycle Clubs (MCC’s) to Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club on special occasions as they deem appropriate.
6. All Officers and Members are welcome to invite guests, who have an interest in joining Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club, providing prior approval from the Chairman or Vice Chairman is given.
7. All visitors and guests shall complete the visitor’s book for each visit to Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club.
8. All riders must be road legal at all times when attending Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club event or ride-outs.
9. Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club will not be held responsible for any accident, injury, damage or claim arising during Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club events or ride-outs.
10. Any Officer or Member, who was a former member of another MCC, shall not display the insignia of that club alongside that of Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club.
11. Committee meetings shall be held at a time and place as agreed by the Committee, as necessary to carry out their functions.
12. Club meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings in the Club House. The conduct of the meeting and its purpose shall be led by the Chairman. Please have respect for the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Committee during meetings.
13. Respect must be given to all members during meetings.
14. Lies and deceit within Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club will NOT be tolerated.
Riding Rules
1. Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club ride-outs shall start from such place as notified by the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
2. Ride-outs shall start punctually and at the time notified.
3. Alternative meeting places can be agreed at the discretion of the Chairman or Vice Chairman.
4. During all Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club ride-outs, riders will leave as a Club, stay together and return as a Club, unless prior notification given to and agreed by the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
5. Late-comers shall meet at the first stopping point.
6. The Chairman shall regulate the pace by leading Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club ride-outs. At no point should other riders, without prior notice, pass the lead rider.
7. Should any member on a ride-out not appear at an agreed meeting place, within a specified time, all other participants shall wait until the ride-out leader has located the missing rider.
8. It is recommended that all members take out breakdown cover, to avoid disruption to the group. Assistance will be give to members, where possible and reasonable on ride-outs.
9. All members during ride-outs, shall conduct themselves in a safe and proper manner. Members MUST adhere to all current road traffic legislation.
10. It is the duty of each member of a ride-out, to ensure their vehicle is roadworthy, legal and that they are in possession of valid insurance and other relevant documentation.
Finance
1. The Treasurer shall hold both General and Charitable Funds, as directed by the Chairman.
2. The Treasurer shall have control of the accounts under observation of the Secretary and Committee Members.
3. No payment may be made except with the approval of the Chairman and the Treasurer
4. Treasurer will submit accounts at the AGM, to the Road Wizards Motor Cycle Club.
THESE RULES WILL BE DEEMED BINDING UPON ALL MEMBERS, AT ALL TIMES, WITHOUT EXCEPTION AND SUBJECT ALWAYS TO THE DISCRETIONS OF THE CHAIRMAN, VICE CHAIRMAN AND COMMITTEE WHICH SHALL BE FINAL ON ALL MATTERS.
